Figuring it out in San Diego, CA

I recently (16-AUG-2019) moved into my third AirBnB in San Diego, California! Don’t worry because this will be my final AirBnB! On September 1st, I will be moving my life possessions from my car to a permanent place I can call “home”. I couldn’t be happier with the location, price, or roommate—the trifecta of housing requirements when living in the 8th most expensive city in the US.

I’m excited to be moving to the Pacific Beach (PB) neighborhood, which is known for its surfer vibes, diverse cuisine, and nightlife. Sure, you can find negative articles about PB, but I can find myself walking to the bay, the beach, and late-night pizza! PB is very walkable and also nearby a dedicated bike route I can ride to work every day! The bike commute is ~18 miles round-trip, perfect training for THIS! #PadresPedal

For the last “Sunday Thought” here are the important statistics on how San Diego, California compares to Madison, Wisconsin. Size/Population: San Diego covers 372.4mi2 with a population of 1.42 million residents, while Madison spans 100.9mi2 with 255,214 residents. To put it another way, San Diego is 3.69x larger with 5.56x the population of Madison. The other fun statistic is to compare the number of craft breweries between the cities. Madison has 16 (correct me if I’m wrong in the comments) and San Diego has 156! Cheers!
