I signed up for the Padres Pedal 55-mile bike race with a fundraising goal of $750! Illumina generously covered the registration fee, so now there’s nothing left to do but FUNDRAISE! I had no idea how “Fight Cancer”-focused San Diego is with these four juggernaut cancer-research institutes:
1. Moores Cancer Center at UC San Diego Health
2. Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute
3. Salk Institute
4. Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego.

By September 1st, I will have a fundraising strategy developed with fun incentives to donate to the cause! My initial thought is to try and get 75 people to donate just 10 dollars! On top, I plan to donate $1 per each individual that donates (I may set a personal cap of $200, but that would be wild/phenomenal if we could raise $2,000! Who knows, set the bar high, right?!).
