Friend Endeavors Spotlight (23-MAY-2020)

Another post to showcase 2 of my pal’s endeavors!

The first is my friend from UW-Madison, Savannah Bartel. She’s currently a Graduate Student working towards a PhD focused on behavioral ecology with the Orrock Lab at UW-Madison. I encourage you to learn more about Savannah and her studies at her website: https://savannahlynnbartel.com/. Recently, Savannah shared her first chapter of her dissertation which was published in Ecosphere, a peer-reviewed journal for ecological research. Read it HERE! It’s a very interesting look into the many intricacies of site selection, seed tracking, and seed predation. Great work! Keep it up, Savannah!

The second is my high-school friend, baker-extraordinaire, Kayla Burton. Always the first person I know to bring baked goods for any occasion! Just prior to the pandemic “work-from-home” order, Kayla coincidentally purchased a 10lb bag of flour, butter, and eggs! Fully supplied with fresh ingredients, Kayla has frequently and consistently been posting beautiful pictures on her Instagram account @BrokenOvenBaking. Alongside her Instagram, she’s launched a website sharing recipes and other tips. Explore here: https://brokenovenbaking.com/. Warning: You will immediately have a fierce appetite and begin salivating! Well done, Kayla! Happy to see your passion take form!
